Springfield is located in the western part of Orangeburg County South Carolina.  Springfield has been host to the Governor’s Frog Jump for 50 years.

Springfield is a diverse community with a rich history.  Places to visit include the old Springfield High School at 210 Brodie Street.  Here you will find Orangeburg County Branch Library, Artisan’s Center, Auditorium & Stage, Meeting & Reception room, Visitors Welcome Center, and two museums — Springfield Regional Museum and the Orangeburg County Military Museum.  No admission fee.  Rentals are available.

As well as hosting the Governor’s Frog Jump and the International Egg Strike each year on Easter weekend, the town also hosts many other events listed in the Upcoming Events page.

The pageant will be held on Sunday, April 6th at 4pm, at
Old Springfield High School Auditorium
210 Brodie Street
Springfield, SC

Registration begins at 2pm. The doors will not be open until then.
If doing photogenic, your photo must be turned in by 3:30pm.

Doors will open at 2pm the day of the pageant and the stage will be available for contestants to practice prior to the start of the pageant.

2019 Governor’s Frog Jump @ Frog Jump Park
Apr 18 – Apr 20 all-day

The winner of this classic event will represent South Carolina at the fabled Calaveras County Frog Jump in California. There is a parade, carnival, live music, a cow drop competition, and a fireworks finale. Join us for some great family fun the Saturday before Easter!

Other events offered during the annual Frog Jump weekend could include arts & crafts, cow drop, 5K run, and always, a lengthy and interesting parade before noon on Saturday. The evening usually winds down with one or two local bands and a small street dance.
